A good place to start is by creating a profile of the target audience. This provides a basis for the media buying decisions in your consumer advertising campaign.
Consider the consumer base for your product or service—the target market. What are the common demographic, psychographic, and geographic characteristics? Use that information to draw up a profile that includes, at minimum
- Gender (75% male, 25% female, for example)
- Age (age 25-54)
- Education (some college), and
- Location (within a 50-mile radius of Any town metropolitan area).
